"A face.
You know the kind.
Round cheeks that rise to meet.
A perfect nose.
A chin without a blemish.
Forehead complimenting eyes,
deep set, never staring
and yet not vacant
All of it. All of it
converging on a mouth
too perfect to be true,
yet true as truth is.

Sometimes just a face,
fresh and scrubbed
encircled by a halo of cascading hair.
A head, a face indented in a head.
The beauty of it passing
breaks your heart, stops your breath,
kills your memory of all faces.
You see it once and don't forget."
