Hard day- wish the TV would stop shoving it down our throats- it is hard enough without all those images. I pray for the families and thank God our family is safe.

The first thing I did this morning was start the computer, and then I cried. This day will forever be marked in history as the day that thousands of lives were lost. Everyone in America will remember exactly where they were the moment those planes hit. I will never forget the fear I felt, and wondering if my friends in NYC were okay. I will never forget searching for each one of their phone and cell phone numbers and trying to talk to someone to make sure everyone could be located. I was lucky. My friends were all okay.

I cry every year on this day, and I didn't know anyone that was lost. It's just so sad. And no one understands what NYers (especially) go through thinking about the attack, and looking at the piece of the NY skyline that is now missing. It is a constant reminder that there is pure evil in the world.

But I will remember the heroism... the firemen, policemen, and the people who took down the plane in PA... and the nurses, doctors, and volunteers who worked endless nights to take care of the injured people. How brave these people were. How proud their families must be. I know they must be, because I am proud of them and I don't know them. Thank God we do have good people in the world... God's little people. Thank you, because out of all the evil, you were the reminder that good does exist.

I hope that in my lifetime, and in my future children's lifetime, and their children's lifetime... that we never have another attack like we did on this day, five years ago. I don't want my children to wake up on this day every year and cry with sorrow, remembering the day and the lives lost. I don't want them to see the evil that takes place with an act like this.

And so today I cry and remember... because I will never forget 9-11.
