09/25/2006: "So busy..."

newroof (149k image)

We got the new roof today- looks just like the old roof but not damaged! Amazing how they rip it off.

Sunday, Linda replaced the skylight over the hot tub- amazing hail can do this damage. Now all that is left is the barn but it will have to wait until spring.

Today Linda had an endoscopy on her esophagus to check the condition of her "Barrett's esophagus" which is a pre-cancerous condition in which normal cells lining the esophagus are replaced with abnormal cells that, in some people, develop into a type of cancer of the esophagus called adenocarcinoma. A tissue biopsie is done and we will know the results in 7-10 days. She has this done every 2 years so we stay on top of it. So far hers has stay in this stage and not progressed.

Fall is also a busy time for the gardens- lots of transplanting and preparing gardens for the winter. Add work in there and it seems like there is no time to just enjoy (can I say I miss summer when my time belongs to me). Still getting better from the flu as well.

On a last note- this creature was outside my front door and scared the living shit out of me- he crawled into a hole under the house (if it comes in we are going to have problems).

Though I like most creatures- this one I did try to kill- he was just faster. I am a little worried he might eat Mr. Toad who has camped out in my Basil plant- haven't seen him in awhile. I did forget- the gutters are going on next week- then we will be done till spring and yes it feels good to not have to juggle all this.

Boy that hail did a number on that skylight! I'll bet you will be glad when you get all these repairs done. Your "baby" is so cute. What a nice addition to your family. What did you name it....Slim. Please don't bring it home for a visit. Mom
