10/08/2006: "Trees"

Does anyone want my free trees from the National Arbor Day Foundation? I get 10 free trees with my membership. This is one charitable organization that I support (and can afford to support). Your trees come as little twigs that you have to plant and nurture, but they are trees to put in the ground! You can pick from a variety of trees. If you know of anyone else that wants them, that's fine too. I just need the address to send them to. I'm going to mail it out end of this week, so let me know by Friday. First come first server basis. To see the different trees, go to Arborday
and type in your zip code to see all the free trees they offer.

Bob, I sent the 10 Flowering Tree Package which comes with 2 White Flowering Dogwoods, 2 Flowering Crabapples, 2 Washington Hawthorns, 2 American Redbuds, 2 Goldenraintrees.

According to the tree search, the Dogwoods and Redbuds do especially well in partial shade. Not sure about the others, but this was the only package that had those two trees in it. I guess if you have any sun, plant the others there!

yea, I tried to post to the Culver's site, but could you find where to log-in? Brad re-did the site and I can't find the link anywhere.

Bob, I'll have them shipped to you. I'm glad someone will benefit from the membership.

Beth,

We have donated in the past. If you want, we will plant the trees in the backyard, that way you can enjoy when you visit. They will need to be trees for sun/shade or all shade. Stop for a visit.

I love Arbor Day Foundation too, and it is affordable and such a great one to give to. I have actually never given though. Past few years have been dedicated to cancer and breast cancer for me... and I am also trying to focus on Paralell. And in that news, my sail away products in my cafepress shop have earned $12 for Paralell so far. I have to mail a check but have to wait for my new bank account to get active (hopefully Monday) so I can cash the check I received from CafePress.

Very cool Basie! Keep on giving to a great organization. I wish I could take the trees, but not here... maybe after I am in a house. Make sure to post on Culvers.net too (they need some posting anyway).
