04/01/2007: "Peace Assembly..."

"It is possible to live in peace."

Friday we had an assembly at school to celebrate "No Name Calling Week" at our school which is part of our No Bullying/Peacemaker theme. Here is a poster I made for the school.
During the assembly we had all our ELL (English Language Learners) introduce themselves and what country they came from and then say PEACE in their native langauge. I made a movie with kids and staff talking about "What Peace means to them" and each grade level sang songs. Kids got excited and tired but it went well. We will have a PEACE Festival called, "One Earth-One Sky" in May to help celebrate taking care of the earth.

Sounds like everyone enjoyed themselves! These are the types of events that are so neat to have with children. I'm glad you promote such goodness.
