04/03/2007: "Too cute..."

This is my first try at knitting a toy! I think it came out pretty cute! I made these for my cousins, Delaney and Kelsie, for Easter. I made them with Paton’s wool yarn, knitting in the round on size 7 DPNs (double-pointed needles for the non-knitters), and felted them from this pattern on Etsy. As you can see, I changed his colors because I was trying to use some yarn that I had on hand and he is felted where the orginal pattern is not (I am big on felting right now). I also added several extra rows to adjust for the felting process (felting shrinks more in length than width). Now I just need to get them in mail before Easter! Yikes!

Erin- you are too sweet and Delaney will love it. Wish you could deliver them in person, but I understand not wanting to travel. You are going to have so many good ideas when you have kids- lucky kids!
