05/04/2007: "Finally, A JOB!"

My interview went great today and I got offered the job at the scrapbook store. It's not what I am used to getting paid, as you can imagine, but it is a paycheck and is going to work out great for a while. It's actually for 40 hours a week too, which is way more than I had planned (I thought it would be 20 or so), so I am totally excited about that too. It looks like I will be a scrappin' fool... livin' it, workin' it, breathin' it! And the best part is that I got the job off if two things: 1.) my prior experience at a large scrapbook store (which got me the call because they needed someone bad); and 2.) my 2 scrapbooks that I brought (including the New York one and my family one with all the layouts of the kids). She didn't even go through the interview questions and just said, "Ya know what? I like what you've got here and I'm offering you the job. Yeah, these are great! You scrap like I do and I love it." Whew, a boost of creative confidence back in my corner. It was just what I needed to hear.

I'm so glad that I can stop taking money out of savings now to pay some bills... it is a relief. AND, it may end up being more work because the people who own it are selling it because they want to focus on their balloon distributing company and they may want some freelance work for their balloon catalog! And the new owners coming in may need me to do their newsletter and website, so this may end up being quite a cool job after all... not to mention that their assistant manager recently left and she made mention of it like maybe I could work into that. Not too bad, if you ask me. I am just happy to have a job doing something I love. I start tomorrow! Busy, busy day being National Scrapbooking Day and all! I can't wait!

Congrats. You never know what might bloom from this job. And it is something you love doing and you will be a great asset in guiding people.
Don't spend all your money there tho. Enjoy. Love you Nana

Congratulations on the job. I know you will enjoy the job but keep looking for a job in your field as well. Hugs and kisses.

YEAH- but you can't spend your whole pay check at work now! Amazing how things come around and what opportunities come from it. God does work in mysterious ways.
