05/31/2007: "Goodbye..."

9_pt-Union (45k image)

After 12.5 years- I leave Union Chapel behind. I did not realize this would be so hard, but it is. It would be different if this was my choice but this is a forced change (and I don't think I like this kind of change!). Some of my dearest friends gave me goodbye gifts and cookies and hugs and I cried (like this is something new). Now I get to go say goodbye to 2 colleagues who resigned that I have worked with 9 & 11 years. Then I also get a new administrator and new school for next year (one who does not want me and has made that fact well known). Why can't we just love our jobs, work with the kids and quit all the other BS? Oh by the way- today was the last day of school for the kids and tomorrow is the last work day for the teachers. Another year done.

Its sad to leave a place that has been home. Keep the faith and who knows, maybe you will be placed back there again soon. Try to enjoy your summer and the time to sit back and have some relaxation time. We love you.

Enjoy the time off- focus on you and Linda, get some projects done- that always makes you feel better. Remember- when the Lord closes a door- he opens a window. You may not see it now, but it will work out- change forces us to do things we didn't do before. Hang in there- wish you could come out and visit- a Delaney hug would be just the ticket!!

Maybe things will change once she sees how much you do and the wonderful things you instill in the children and in the school (not to mention it will make her look good). Take a deep breath this summer and when things start up next year, she will see the asset that you are and let's hope her attitude will change.

Hang in there. It might work out better than you think. Remember, you thought the administrator this year didn't like you and she did. Have faith that God will see you through and guide you in the right way. Love Mom

I also might add that I am sick and have no voice which does not help this situation!
