08/06/2007: "Weekend in Osage Beach..."

We took Ralph and Joann to Osage Beach for a weekend getaway at Ralph's request. We stayed at the Country Club Resort and Spa. We had deluxe suites which were very nice except for the bed which felt like a brick. We tried several new restaurants- The Heron- which had little under $50.00 and WAS THE WORST MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD!The next night we ate at J.B. Hooks and it was very good and much more reasonable. It also had a 14 mile view of the lake- outstanding experience. We went to the Main Street Music Hall . The Main Street Music Hall is a live music show that is now in its fourteenth season at the Lake of the Ozarks in Osage Beach, Missouri. The Music Hall offers a wide variety of musical enjoyment as well as comedy. The show consists of two hours of current and classic country, gospel, and patriotic songs as well as a trip through time with our medley of songs from the 1940’s through today. I was anticipating Hee Haw and this was very enjoyable and Ralph smiled through the whole show! They also have an outlet mall but it was pretty hot so we cut shopping short. When we were not out and about we were playing cards (Ralph's favorite past time) and they taught me how to play Pitch. I even won a set but get it confused with Euchre (wins hands, pitch wins points). We had a good time.
