09/10/2007: "A full days work..."

SUndaychores (178k image)

Well we started planting the hillside. The temperature dropped into the 70's so we can get some work done. You might remember we had the back of the barn dug out. We put in 3 Crape Myrtle trees, a grass and planted the berm with lilies. I still have 1 more grass to move, 3 spireas and a new tree but ran out of steam. We rented an auger to help with the holes because the soil has a lot of clay and it was no help at all- back to the shovel. We also moved some plants around the front sit area. Look how little the plants were when we moved in. This area didn't even exist. We added a knockout rose today (moved grass to back hill). This is the area where the "Peace Pole" will go. Have to order it soon. More digging. I know this should keep you in shape but it tires me out!

Looks like an awful lot of work but it will look great when you are done. Mom

Looks great. Ilike the grasses you put in. Yes, is does help when the temperature dips. Show us when you are done.
