AT&T stopped believing after 129 years and announced plans to exit the shrinking pay phone business by the end of 2008. Ma Bell’s ties to the pay phone stretch back to the very beginning with the first pay phone in 1878.

This is actually quite sad. Before I got a cell phone I tried to look for a pay phone to call Clark since I had gotten lost trying to follow my fast driving hubby bubby to Kay's house. I stopped at Wegmans because you cannot find pay phones anymore! Many people I am sure do not have a cellular phone. It is bothersome to think they will not be able to have use of a phone any longer.
