04/13/2008: "Say some prayers..."

Dariens boyfriend, Josh, was hit by a car last night. He has two broken legs, broken pelvis, broken tailbone, broken nose and cracked neck. He is in the hospital and they were operating on him this afternoon. He is in for a very long rehab. Please pray for the boy. Nana

Dee bird, I know you will be allright because you are a strong girl. You have a big family to be there for you and who love you very much. Do not forget to keep up with your school tho as you need to go on. It will take time but he is young, strong and has a lot of support from you. He will make it through all this and so will you. You have a great mom and sister to be there for you, and don't kid yourself, you have one tough mother. Follow her example and you will be fine. We love all of you and certainly have Josh in our prayers. Talk to you soon. Love Nana

OMG! I just saw something on Mattie's facebook yesterday and wrote to her to see what had happened, but this is the first I heard. Dee & Kris, please let me know what I can do as I am right here. Let me know where he is and maybe I can go take him and Dee some dinner or something. I've gotten to know Josh pretty good from living with you guys and I feel like he is a part of the family. He is a good kid and I am so sorry to hear that this happened. My prayers are certainly with him, Dee and your whole family. What kind of stuff is he into and I will certainly put somethign together... movies? snacks?

Oh my God! How did this happen? We surely will say many prayers for Josh and when we get home from DC we will also get out a card and a care package as well. I hope he is ok and please keep us up to date on his recovery. Will he be in the hospital or elsewhere to recover? I am stunned. Hang in there Josh and be strong. D bird.. we love you and we are thinking of you.

Don't forget the power of prayer- Linda believes our families prayer moves mountains! We are here to listen and if you want to put together a Care package, let us know what we can send to help him while he recovers. Darian- we love you- don't forget to take care of yourself and know we are here for you- just ask for what you need.

I saw josh and he wasn't awake but dee has - he has alot to get through but I am hoping this will give him a new lease on life and we can get him better physically and emotionally - it means alot to dee that everyone is pulling for Josh - she loves him and needs her families support - because you don't live here you do not see how strong, mature and smart she is - the girl has more moxie than her mother - please let he know you care - shoe shoulders alot on her own (except for me matt and mark)
