09/08/2008: "Remembering Matthew..."

MLC4 (70k image)
At the rising sun and at its going down we remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter we remember them.
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring we remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer we remember them.
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of the autumn we remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends we remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us.
As we remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strength we remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart we remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make we remember them.
When we have joy we crave to share we remember them.
When we have achievements that are based on theirs we remember them.
For as long as we live, they too will live,For they are now a part of us,
as we remember them.

I apologize for the lateness of our post. We were out west, but want you to know that Matthew will forever be in our thoughts and prayers. We love you all and admire your strength and courage.

I was hoping to plant my Matthews garden so that it would be done by his birthday, but the house stuff has taken a lot more time than I thought. I bought a wooden ship wheel and some little boueys that I plan to put in his garden. Someday I hope to have a bench to read on and relax and think about him, and maybe a water feature that I can sail a little sailboat in. And of course it must have butterfly bushes, since he was like a little butterfly... So beautiful, but so quick to flutter by. I love you little man, wherever you are, and I know you watch down on your family. Please know that I have been thinking about the entire Carroll family this whole week. I wish I could be there to give my shoulder to cry on and many warm hugs to make you all feel better.

I can't believe that it has been 4 years. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him and miss him. I do thank God for his sister, mom and dad as they bring so much happiness into our lives.I guess there are some things that we will never know the answers to and just pray to God to help us deal with them. Love Mom
