01/11/2009: "Transcending..."

I just ordered her book-"The Middle Place" which is a memoir about Kelly Corrigan who was a happily married mother of two young daughters when she discovered a cancerous lump in her breast. She was still undergoing treatment when she learned that her beloved father, who'd already survived prostate cancer, now had bladder cancer. All these stories lead up to where she is now, in that middle place, being someone's child, but also having children of her own. I'll let you know- in the mean time, enjoy these words on women and strength.

I went to the library today, but it is already checked out. If I can get it- I'll let you know and then you won't need to send it to me!

I love when someone can take a hard topic and lighten it up- still tell the story but make it bareable to hear or listen to- humor is a good thing! Amazon has not even mailed it yet but will send it your way when done.

Too Funny- I was going to see if they had this at the library for me to take on our trip. If not, I guess I will wait and borrow it from you. She is a terrific speaker, so I am really looking forward to reading her book.
