01/20/2009: "It's time to remake America..."

“Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost, jobs shed, businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly, our schools fail too many, and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet. The time has come to set aside childish things. Today, I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America — they will be met.”

I love what this man stands for and I truly think it's awesome to see him work so hard, even before he was in office. I think he's the man we needed, even though in the beginning I had my doubts... I doubt no more and love to hear him speak. I look forward to the changes he can and will bring and I hope he can help our economy heal. YES WE CAN IS RIGHT!

Well- I made sure that Delaney watched some of the inaugration ceremony so she could see all the old Presidents and understand what today represented. It is great to see all the people and let's hope they will hear his message and follow his lead and get involved to make a difference. Attitude is everything and it appears that people are supportive given the number of people in DC today. I'm ok with change and hopefully it will be for the better!
