03/31/2009: "In Loving Memory..."

Today was not a great day for my family and I just wanted to let people know... Our Kitters died today around 5:00 p.m. My mom had to rush her to the vet because she was in a coma-like state. They were preparred to put her down, but the vet wanted to keep her for observation and after about an hour she died. For those who have pets, you know how devastating this can be. She was almost 17 years old, but that doesn't stop our family from missing her... especially since it was my parents last pet in the house. My mom and sister are most devastated, so if you get a chance give them a call and tell them you love them... and say a little prayer for our fat kitty in heaven... may she rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of this loss and yes they are part of the family. I remember all to well when Maddi died. Still to this day know it bothers a couple of the kids. It will get easier and remember the good!

That is a sad thing when you lose a pet that has been there for so long however you would not want her to suffer either. Sometimes pets are just part of the family. Happier days will come soon. Mom

What keeps me feeling better is knowing that we have family members in heaven that can enjoy her company now... I just picture her bouncing on the clouds, running to them with her "mew, mew, mew, mew, mewwww" that she used to do.

Maybe I will have to start bringing my kitty Italix home from now on, along with the Smooch Pooch to spread the love.

And Basie, that picture is up in my flickr... type a search in my photostream for Kitt.

Thanks for posting this E, what a nice photo of the moo. I miss her so much. I wish I could have seen her again, sometimes living far from home really sucks. I know she had a long life, but it doesn't stop my heart from missing her. That cat got me through so many hard times in my life, she was always there to offer a "meh" and a purr when you needed it. She was just a happy kitty almost all the time.

So sorry to hear of your loss. We just saw Kitters when we were in Clyde in February- I believe she was begging from the table (~grin~) . It seems hard right now because you feel the initial loss, but you will start to remember the things from the 17 years that made this cat so close to all of you and those are what you need to hang on to and use when you start to feel blue. I would think after 17 years there are funny things and even annoying things that as you start to incur them in your days going forward you will stop and remember why they are so significant now. We are thinking of you all. Wow- this is the end of the dynasty. One thing ends and another is beginning. You now have a cute little puppy dog in the family that would love to have all the love and attention that you all have! Hang in there and know we are thinking of you.
