No more late nights, narcissistic students, piles of papers and having no time...I'm all done being a professor. And just what will I do with all that extra time...

It's a start!

You will feel better and Kris is right, it becomes a way of life.. You will notice that things that were hard to do, getting up from the floor, going up stairs etc. get easier to do and shopping is a lot more fun. I still have a way to go to get to the size that I want but it sure is a lot better than what it was. You go girls!!!!! I'm proud of you. Kelly is going out and walking every lunch hour at work and riding a abike at home and she is feeling much better. Good work. Love Mom

Hey, it's a great start! 30 minutes a day is all it takes. And if you don't have time for 30, do three separate 10-minute somethings throughout the day. David and I joined the gym again a couple of weeks ago and I have finally gotten him to commit to eating better... I had a little breakdown over my clothes not fitting. He does a lot of the cooking and he doesn't choose healthy options, and because I'm happy dinner is made when I get home, I don't complain and just eat. Now I come home and help him cook so I know what's in the food and to teach him... he was shocked when I told him you need to drain the fat out of hamburger... YIKES! Now if I can get him to switch from 80% lean to 93% or 96% we'll be in business. A couple of weeks ago he grimaced when I put our grilled chicken in a salad (that he wanted to eat separate), but after he tried it he was really happy and surprised he liked it! THERE IS HOPE!

So far I've only lost 2 lbs. in the last week, but they say 2 lbs. a week is the way to do it so it stays off. We go to the gym at least 3-4x a week but find other ways to workout too (mowing the lawn, walking the dog, etc.). I've also jumped back on the Wii Fit and have been having a blast! David is more motivated because he joined a baseball league, and he wants to be in shape for that. My goal so far is just to lose 10 pounds... later we'll pull for more.

We can all help each other in this journey!!! Good luck to you and everyone else who has this goal right now!
