It whispers you are on the right path, It speaks that your life is sacred again."

Here's a riddle for you...

ashley (190k image)

Wait, what's the sense in life
Come over me, Come over me
He said, "Son why you got to sing that tune
Catch a Dylan song or some eclipse of the moon
Let an angel swing and make you swoon
Then you will see... You will see."

Then he said,
"Here's a riddle for you
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I..."

Picked up my kid from school today
Did you learn anything cause in the world today
You can't live in a castle far away
Now talk to me, come talk to me

He said,
"Dad I'm big but we're smaller than small
In the scheme of things, well we're nothing at all
Still every mother's child sings a lonely song
So play with me, come play with me"

And Hey Dad
Here's a riddle for you
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I...

I said,
"Son for all I've told you
When you get right down to the
Reason for the world...
Who am I?"

There are secrets that we still have left to find
There have been mysteries from the beginning of time
There are answers we're not wise enough to see
He said... You looking for a clue I Love You free...

The batter swings and the summer flies
As I look into my angel's eyes
A song plays on while the moon is hiding over me
Something comes over me

I guess we're big and I guess we're small
If you think about it man you know we got it all
Cause we're all we got on this bouncing ball
And I love you free
I love you freely

Here's a riddle for you
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I...

Planting a full garden...

Vegtables (146k image)

In the past we raised tomatoes- lots of tomatoes! This year we are putting in collard greens, cucumbers, broccoli, brussel sprouts, peppers, zucchini, onions, and tomatoes. We plan to grow more because prices have gotten so high. I wanted to put the garden in this weekend but they are calling for another frost so it looks like next weekend. We did get 2 loads of mulch done- we are redoing all beds in black mulch. I'm getting to old or too fat but this physical labor is killing me!

What a night...

We had our Peace Festival...we had bubbles, and tattoos and kites and decorated lightswitchs and the kids drew their peace symbols. My student Kat came and made cotton candy. It was a great event- turned cold so we had to move it inside and it was a very long day but filled with fun. I took 469 pictures and will get more up later.

BUTLER SOCCER COMING TO AN END :[[[

photo_540 (33k image)

My school soccer season is already whinding down and it has flown by. We have 2 games left this coming week and im really excited. i dont really get a long rest cause my club tryouts are at the end of may then we start practice in july so really NO break. but im all for my soccer. my school record is
6-2-4 which is pretty good cause we have had to play with 10 to 12 players only in heat which is tough. im playing very well and had a great assist this past week in our 2-0 win vs south meck

just a little heads up for everyone.
thanks for all the support.

Kris's Fish

IMG_4508

I just wanted to post this picture of Kris with her fish from this past summer. Now that's a keeper! I just loved this picture and the look on her face! I loved it! Way to go fisher-woman! I said I wanted to get this up a while back when she posted her other fishing picture. The pictures from our fishing excursion are up in my FlickR for anyone that wants to download some of Kris and the girls.

I'm so excited...

resin9535 (109k image)

It should be here in about a week and a half. I have mine with four translations instead of eight and they are English, Italian, Irish and sign language. The little animals prints will be around the bottom for Herman ( our little frog who comes back each year- or one of his decedents!) and all our other little creatures. It will be placed outside the front windows in the half circle so we can see it inside and out.

Out of the mouth of Delaney...

butt-talk (161k image)

Kay C. & Bob were trying to teach Delaney how to tie her shoes- both their way when she looked at them and said, " You two are driving me crazy, just leave me alone and I'll figure it out myself!" Half an hour later she marched into the room and showed her parents how she ties her shoes.

Later in the weekend she asked her mother about the word "buttock". Kay C. explained it was the proper word for butt and Delaney after thinking about it said- "Well, my butt does talk to me sometimes!" Seriously, her "buttalks" tells her to eat her food...oh their little minds!

Too Busy...

kind (54k image)

I have so much to do it is overwhelming... and the problem, it all has to be done NOW! I hate when you have to take your weekend (time to relax and rejuvenate) and use it to play catch-up. When I talked to Kris she said she was swamped as well. I never thought I would be excited about rain (and snow this weekend) except I can live guilt free for not working outside which has a ton to do. Everything just hit at once...I have been living by the motto, One minute at a time...so if I forget a birthday (sorry Buffett) or don't post- you know why. Don't forget- your log-in might not work as Nana discovered so check to make sure- I had to reboot that file with an old copy and it might need to be reentered. Well it's late and I have to get up early- tomorrow is negotiations and I still have to fine tune the packet.
Edited: Well negotiations went well, they were impressed with our presentation, I did fine on the grief presentation panel, there are always new papers- I need to go to tests! and I worked on Stanley tonight- should have him done soon. I can breathe a little easier!

Live Free or Die!

basiehouse (173k image)

So, I've been getting many questions about my move, so I thought it's about time I put the word out there. Sorry guys, been busy moving!

I am no longer living in the DC area. I stayed there 9 months and it really was enough to know it wasn't right for me. I figured if I already knew I didn't like the area, why waste time staying there. I wanted to move North again, but wasn't ready to go home. I found a job in Vermont, but it's right on the border of New Hampshire, so that is where I am living. When I first moved here I was living with a guy in Sutton, but it was very far away and I missed my stuff. With a 45 min commute and getting home too late to cook, I've been eating out all the time. You can only imagine how healthy and expensive it is! Yet, surprisingly enough, I have lost a few pounds, must be from stress and lugging boxes!

So, I just found a cute place in West Lebanon, right down the road from all the major shopping attractions, but out in the country. My house is over 200 years old, it was the first established home in Lebanon! The Trust Trust Farm. It's big with hardwood floors and a huge yard. A brook runs along the North edge of the property and empties into the Connecticut River just to the West of my house. I live with a young cute girl named Rachel, she is 21 and is from Vermont.

I'm so in love with the house, but not with the move. I'm very tired and the house still has boxes and chaos everywhere. TV and Internet are proving to be a challenge, so I'm still a little out of touch. It feels good to be in my own place, it'll feel better when I can get back to life as I once knew it. Then, I think I'll really be happy. Now I just need more friends and a man to entertain me would be nice!

I did manage to lose the big TV in the move... it smashed. Bummer. My iPod also stopped working yesterday, not really sure what is up with that. So, I'm in the market for some electronics!! Maybe I'll have to get a job at Best Buy just for the discount!

I have a guest room, so I will be expecting some visitors!! Find a weekend that's good for you and come see the beauty of New Hampshire and Vermont! La, Southwest flies into the airport nearest to me (Manchester) and you can get some cheap flights! I'm also only 2.25 hours from Bo and 2.5 hours from Susan on the Culver side... so I'll be heading in there directions sometime soon I hope! After I get some things unpacked that is!

Oh, and in other news, Lydia got accepted into RIT and has decided to go there for grad school! I'm excited for her and for the fact that I'll be able to see her when I come home to visit!

Make a Difference...

starfish (129k image)

"A traveller was walking along a beach when he saw a woman scooping up starfish off the sand and tossing them into the waves. Curious, he asked her what she was doing. The woman replied "When the tide goes out it leaves these starfish stranded on the beach. They will dry up and die before the tide comes back in, so I am throwing them back into the sea where they can live."

The traveller then asked her "But this beach is miles long and there are hundreds of stranded starfish, many will die before you reach them - do you really think throwing back a few starfish is really going to make a difference?"

The woman picked up a starfish and looked at it, then she threw it into the waves. "It makes a difference to this one."

* Matty is spending most of this week with Nana.
* Rock Chalk Jayhawk! What can you say!

Here's to The The Crazy Ones...

"Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels.
The troublemakers. The round
pegs in the square holes - the
ones who see things differently.
They're not fond of rules and
they have no respect for
the status quo. You can praise
them, disagree with them,
quote them, disbelieve them,
glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing that you
can't do is ignore them.
Because they change things."

New Research...

h2o (124k image)

There is no clear-cut scientific rationale for the average healthy individual to drink eight glasses of water or more a day.

Myth No. 1:
One is that drinking a lot of water suppresses appetite. There is "no consistent evidence" that water suppresses appetite. "Because you absorb water so quickly and it moves through the GI tract so quickly, it probably doesn't fill you up the way people have proposed, nor does it lead to the release of hormones which suppress appetite as far as we know," the researcher said.

Myth No. 2:
The second myth is that filling up on water flushes toxins from the body. "In fact, that is not how the kidney works," Goldfarb said. "When you drink a lot of water you end up having a larger volume of urine but don't necessarily increase the excretion of various constituents of the urine."

Myth No. 3:
The third myth is that it reduces headaches. It does not, according to the evidence.

Myth No. 4:
The fourth myth is that water drinking improves your skin. There are no data to suggest that it actually improves the water content of the skin.

Science... and we believe it!
